In 1976, Eduardo Silva had a small stationery shop in Vilarinho, a quiet village in Vila do Conde, selling everything from pens and paper to home appliances. The demand for backpacks during the back-to-school season was high, but the supply was low. Seeing an opportunity, Eduardo decided to take matters into his own hands and start to produce his own school bags.
